Wow! It’s already Friday again. Not that I’m complaining, especially since I have a three-day weekend coming up. But time is flying and we’re already over halfway through January. Not to mention I waited until Thursday night to write Friday’s post.
Our weather has been a little crazy of late (nothing new for Texas). Not much cold but we had storms last Friday night that ushered in a cold front. Saturday was one of those days when it was best to stay indoors. The weather cleared late in the afternoon. We had a heavy frost overnight, but fog and clouds moved in just before sunrise. The result was this:
Okay, not the best photo in the world, but I was standing on my front porch in shirt sleeves and wearing slippers!

I love the view from your porch! Many thanks for sharing that and the links, Joan 🙂
Thanks, Nicholas. I am blessed with a good view. And thank you for the great posts. I’m slowly getting back into the swing of blogging!
Beautiful photo, Joan. I’ve missed those fresh, frosty days over here in the UK … we bypassed that lovely sunny autumnal weather and went straight into wind and rain at storm levels, which have pretty-much held all the way through from September to now … bring on summer!
Thanks for the links and have a great weekend.

We don’t have much fall weather anymore. We usually have a killing frost in early November but this year we went from warm to a couple of hard freezes before the frost. Therefore, we didn’t get the beautiful autumn colors like we normally do.
I’m with you, I’m ready for summer. I don’t like cold weather. Thanks for reblogging this and enjoy your weekend!
That is a lovely view from your porch, whatever the weather.
I love sitting on my front porch during warm weather. Nice place to read, observe, and brainstorm!
That’s HEAVY frost! Thanks for the links!
It was beautiful. Almost like a thin covering of snow. Have a great weekend, Priscilla!
Ha. I’m just the opposite. I hate hot weather, a real drawback when you live in Florida! I love colder temperatures, though down here, the cold kills your garden–and most things don’t come back in the spring. So a Florida freeze isn’t so good. But still, I’m trapped inside in the a/c all summer long, so I like being able to open the windows and hear the birds singing on a cool or even cold day. Having said all that, you might figure I’d love your photo, and I do! But I find I enjoy most of your pictures, Joan. You have a good eye for capturing a moment.
Thanks again for such a super list of interesting links. Saving it in a special folder just for recaps and links. I can’t wait to read some of the things I’ve missed. And thanks, also again, for having me as your guest this week. It was great to share a bit about The Light with you and your readers. Here’s to NEXT week! 🙂 <3
I used to hate hot weather but now it’s the cold I dislike. Especially wet colds. Having said that, it’s nice to be indoors by a fire when the weather is bad. I wish we had spring and fall like we once did. Now we have two seasons – summer and February! 🙂
We’ve had some wonky weather in KY also, Joan. In one week, it’s ranged from mid 70s to upper 20s. Have a great weekend!
Crazy temps! We’ve been up and down all week with colder weather forecast for next week. I hope you enjoy your weekend, too!
We had a couple of beautiful warm days here too, early in the week, but I woke up to 26 degrees this morning and snow, sleet, and ice are excepted tomorrow. I love when we get those unexpected blasts of spring in winter. I just wish they’d last longer, LOL.
Happy Friday, Joan, and hope you enjoy your nice long weekend!
That’s a big change. Sounds like what often happens here. I’ll take those warm days anytime. Enjoy your weekend as well.
I love misty winter mornings, Joan. We just got the cold back and 8 inches of snow with it. Have a great three day weekend:)
Wow! I think snow is pretty until it starts to melt, that is. I’m still a summertime gal!
We had snow and gloom most of the week. Now it’s sunny and bright, but still cold. I suppose it is winter after all. I also have monday off, and hope to make headway on writing projects.
Keeping my fingers crossed but so far no snow this winter. In fact, it’s been pretty mild, but the forcast calls for cooler weather next week. We’ll see. Good luck on the writing. I hope to accomplish some this weekend as well!

Thanks for the reblog, Nicholas!
We occasionally get frosts like this during our winter, Joan. Every 15 years or so it snows. I hope you are 100% better now.
Thanks, Robbie. I think I’m finally back at full energy. We don’t get a lot of snow but more often than you do.
